Official: Russia to support economy with additional measures 2016
MOSCOW, Nov 30 (PRIME) – Russia will have to take a vast array of additional economic measures to support a positive trend in the economy, Deputy Finance Minister Maxim Oreshkin said Monday at a meeting of the Federation Council, the parliament’s upper house.
“We have managed to support the most vulnerable sectors of the Russian economy selectively without any serious threats to macro-economic stability, which allowed the economy to stabilize and reach new dynamics faster,” he said.
“I support that…speaking of next year, we should not talk about an ‘anti-crisis’ plan of further actions. There are many problems in our economy, and we have to take a vast range of additional measures that will improve positive tendencies that we have registered in the past months.”
“It is important to understand that the situation in which we are now is not a crisis, it is a new reality with low oil prices, new condition of the payment balance. And we have to move forward from this point gradually,” he said.
